Search tips for the Findoc database

• The icon gives an alphabetical listing of terms.

• Enter your search term in the Freetext field if you want to search in all fields. Enter your search term in the appropriate field if you want to search in a specific field.

• The search terms of different fields can be combined with AND or OR.

• Use the $ character as wildcard.

• You can search on publication year in the Publication year field, on exact year as well as on "greater than" or "less than".

  • enter the year (4 digits) if you want to search on exact year, e.g. 1996
  • enter <1996 to get all titles with a publication year earlier than 1996, the search term <=1996 includes 1996 as well
  • enter >1996 to get all titles with a publication year later than 1996, the search term >=1996 includes 1996 as well

• You can choose the sort order of the result list. The alternatives are

  1. by author and title
  2. by title and author
  3. by publication year (descending order), author and title

• Click on Search to submit the query.

• The result list shows 30 records at a time. Click on to get the following page, and on to get the previous page.
