The aim of the project is to evaluate the influence of the chemicals used in thermochemical processing and of the physico-chemical conditions thereon on the surface structure of wood fibres.AFM [atomic force microscopy]technique is used to characterize the surface structure and quality of the modelcooked dissolved fibres. This information will be combined with the physical and surface chemical characterisation of wood and fibres with similar pretreatment.
