The project is part of a MATRA-consortium titled Organic thin films with functional activity , with key issues in materials science, in discovery and development of new materials with desired properties.The system of interest in this project is biosensors that mimic living cell membranes.The research concerns comparative studies of thin film preparation techniques [Langmuir-Blodgett technology vs. self-assembly], and studies on mechanical stability, polymerisation, topographical structure and biofunctionalisation of the thin films at molecular scale.
