The aim of the study was to test the extent to which extensive early childhood exposure to media violence promotes attitudes accepting of aggression, aggressive behavior, antisocial behavior, and criminality in young adults.It was hypothetized that those subjects whose behaviors and cognitions in early childhood are most affected by exposure to media violence will show lasting effects of violence viewing on antisocial behavior and cognition related to antisocial behavior in early adulthood.During the study (about 20 years) the subjects have been interviewde altogether eight times.The first interview was conducted at the age of 7/9 years (year 1977) and last at the age of 23/25.In the beginning of the study also the subjects' parents and in the last stage the spouses or near friends of the subjects were intervjued.The first and last stages of the study were conducted parallel in four different countries (Finland, Israel, Poland and USA).
