A sulphur-free pulping method is under development at Åbo Akademi University.The basic subprocesses of this new IDE-concept (initials of Impregnation, Depolymerization and Extraction) are studied under controlled conditions in order to find a simple and cheap process providing well delignified fibres without shives and with a high pulp yield and good fibre properties.
