The discourse, i.e. critical reviews, on popular culture in Finland is analysed.Rock music, the Christian view on rock music as the devil's message, strips and comics, popular music, pocket novels, theatre and illustrated magazines are studied as indicators of high vs low cultures and as indicators of how the Finland-Swedish world of values is constructed.
