The purpose of the project is to develop a useful measurement and control system for biotechnical processes e.g. for bioreactors. An analyzer and a number of methods for the most important components in a bioreactor have been developed. The system developed is a general purpose analyzer that with software written for this purpose (AnalySIA) can be configured to perform practically any wet chemical analysis. The system consists of standard components (PC, A/D concerter, simple photometer, photon counter and photomultiplier) that replace more expensive commersial devices. The concept has been succesfully tested in real process environment where the whole process will be cintrolled using the output from the analyzer.
