I skrivelsen diskuteras behovet av att reglera könsdiskriminerande reklam, skandinavisk rätt och tolkningen av konsumentskyddslagen (KSL). In the early 1987 the new law on equal opportunities was put into effect. Despite the fact that one of the objectives of of this legislation was to influence the citizens' attitudes regarding equality the law does not attack such an important attitude influencing factor as advertising.The provisions on prohibition against sex-discrimination in advertising had been included in the earlier stages of preparation, but they were excluded in the Government's proposition.The author discusses the need for regulations on sex-discrimination in advertising, Scandinavian law and the interpretation of Law of Consumer Protection (konsumentskyddslagen).
