There are two general conventions on custody of children: The European Convention on Recognition and Enforcement of Decisions Concerning Custody of Children and on Restoration of Custody of Children (Treaty Series, No. 105. Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, October 10, 1980.The Hague Conference on Private International Law.Collections of Conventions 1951-1980).The Strasbourg and Hague Conventions are compared with each other. The most important aspect is that child abduction is not a problem that can be restricted to region.Especially between Europe and USA child abductions are very common, and also in Australia, that has given refugee to a large number of refugees, child abductions are common.
